Edward Gibson, FSA, FCIA
Senior Vice-President, Capital Management and Chief Actuary
Edward joined Empire Life in February 1988 in the Individual Insurance division, and then progressed into senior roles in Group Solutions, Corporate Actuarial and Corporate Finance.
In 2008, he became Senior Vice-President and Chief Actuary, and in 2018 was appointed Senior Vice-President, Chief Financial Officer and Chief Actuary. During his 30-year tenure, he has overseen the finance, strategy, actuarial, and risk management functions of the company.
Edward is a graduate of Queen's University where he received his Bachelor of Science, with a major in mathematics.
Edward continues to be active in the Kingston community, the Canadian Life and Health Insurance Association, and the Canadian Institute of Actuaries.
