September 2021 Update - Highlights:
Plan member reduction in hours:
Since January 1, 2021, we have been applying our standard eligibility rules related to minimum work hours. With all the great features we’ve added to the Group Administrator Portal, it’s easier than ever to make updates here.
We are not automatically terminating coverage for anyone not working the minimum number of hours. If a member does not meet the minimum hours requirement, benefits coverage can be terminated directly on our portal by selecting the member and clicking on terminate.
Covered benefit amounts:
On January 1, 2021, we reverted back to our standard practice when it comes to benefits based on earnings. This means Empire Life aligns benefits coverage with plan member earnings for benefits such as Long-term disability (LTD) and life insurance.
