Initial premiums are guaranteed for the first term only, ten years in the case of Scotia Simplified 10 and 20 years in the case of Scotia Simplified 20. To qualify for the Scotia Affinity Group premium discount of 10% (“Scotia Affinity Rate”) on premiums in the first policy year (Year 1) of a Scotia Simplified Term 10 or 20 Life insurance policy, you (the person applying for insurance) must be either (i) a customer or employee of The Bank of Nova Scotia, (ii) a customer or employee of another member of the Scotiabank group of Companies or (iii) a member or employee of SCENE+ loyalty program at the time you submit your application for Scotia Simplified Term 10 or 20 Life Insurance to Empire Life. Scotia Insurance and/or Empire Life may require additional information to validate your eligibility for the Scotia Affinity Rate. If you fail to provide proof of eligibility when requested, the policy will no longer qualify for the Scotia Affinity Rate and to maintain coverage you will be required to pay the full premium amount. You can select any eligibility option that applies to you but if multiple options apply, the maximum discount will be a 10% reduction of your premiums in the first policy year. This offer cannot be combined with any other offer and may be changed, withdrawn, suspended or extended at any time without notice, subject to applicable law.
